If you have a dog or dogs, maybe you can spare a few minutes of your precious time in searching for a dog rescue near you. There are so many dogs like mine that are abandoned, left by their owners or simply lost forever. This is the main reason why I am writing this article today. You see, I have a friend that has a Pit Bull that lost its way in the woods somewhere and was probably left there by his owner. I also made the mistake of not taking my dog’s grooming into consideration. You see, dogs are animals that should be groomed regularly if they have a lot of hair to keep themselves clean. Most of them are naturally clean when they get home, but their owner usually neglects to take this into account.
If you don’t know where your dog is living, then you should consider asking around to your neighbors, friends and family. They might not have any dogs of their own, but they would most likely be happy to help you look for one. I was able to find my dog by asking around and talking to people who knew the area. If I hadn’t done this, I would have had to spend hours searching, maybe even day or two, before I found my dog.
Rescue Dog
If you are too tired to search for your lost dog, you can always enlist the help of a search and rescue dog. Search and rescue dogs are specially trained to locate missing people. They have the ability to track the scent of a missing person from miles away. They have the tools needed to check out the area where your dog is hiding and to catch the dog if it is still there. Most search and rescue dog handlers will offer their services for free.

The best part about using these two options is that you are doing your part to save a dog’s life. Dogs that are abandoned and forgotten are more likely to be put to sleep than those that are adopted. Searching for your lost dog should be a very high priority. Taking care of a dog, even if they are just a puppy, is a lot less taxing than raising a dog and taking care of a pet dog.
